The symbolism involved in creating this piece First, I choose the rose - well, I choose the color red The 3 leaves for the trinity; The blue waterglass in the vase represents The stem is the communication line between God & us. It has no thorns - because we have enough thorns in life and there are no burrs in communicating with God. Then the saying "My boat is so small and the sea is so big" was going to be etched onto the vase. Along with that, I was going to put a sailboat, but thought - life is not always smooth sailing; then I was going to put a row boat - because, just like in life, if you don't do it right you will end up going in circles; finally I knew the fishing boat was perfect - after all - we are to be fishers of men. But again, I feel Brenda & her family should be the one to decide what (if anything) goes on it. Finally, the rose being oversized appearing
above the water (and what would have been the boat and us) was
representing how God is always watching over us - AND is and should
always be where your eye goes. |
